Not sure which forum this would go in but I have been using the Tracker for a while and am loving how easy it was to setup. Never could get the SMP stuff to work with regular installs. Question is last couple of times I have finished a WU and stopped all clients the tracker has said something like "unable to safely stop CPU, code=5" but then goes ahead and stops the client. Anyone know what this means or is it anything I should worry about? CPU isn't O/C, or if so just stock 3.2 to maybe 3.4. Generally run 6 or 7 cores (i7 960) or once in a while all 8. Thanks for your help and I do love this application.

That error happens when the safe ctrl+c method of stopping the clients fails for some reason. Code 5 usually means that the client is no longer running. If the safe stop fails, the Tracker will try to kill the client process (similar to doing so in task manager)
As long as you are not getting WU failures when this happens and you don't have extra clients running after they should be stopped then this is nothing to worry about.

Re: Question on shutdown of clients
jedi95, thanks for the prompt reply. I haven't lost work units and the client shuts down properly--had just not seen this message before and had no clue what it meant. Should I be stopping the clients with ctrl+c? I have been doing it on the tracker itself--stop all clients, exit. This may have started after the last update or maybe just a bug in my system. I was an old 111065 folder for a long time but gave it up after I got a 5870 which wasn't much for folding. Until I discovered Tracker V2 in the HardOCP forums and could learn to use SMP I figured my f@h days were over without going back to Nvidia. You have done us all a great service by making the setups so much simpler. Am back with 111065 again.
Thank you

What I meant by ctrl+c is that the Tracker's safe method of stopping the clients effectively does the same thing as manually using ctrl+c. Do not try to manually stop any clients run by the Tracker, because that will be detected as an unexpected client exit, which results in the client being restarted.
The latest updates to the Tracker didn't make any changes to the client start/stop behavior, so that wouldn't make any sense.

Re: Question on shutdown of clients
Appreciate the clarification. Will keep doing things just like always. So far, all WU's have loaded and completed without issue. I keep asking myself "can it be this simple?". Indeed it is! Might even consider firing up the 5870 just to see if it can accomplish anything useful.
Thanks
