    Program freezing

Post by rklapp on Sat Dec 18, 2010 10:49 am

I can't view the program. It just shows a weird little window instead. I'm afraid that if I End Process, that it will kill the bigadv wu. How's the best way to reload the program without killing the wu?

    Code:

The best thing to do is kill the Tracker via task manager. After that's done, close FAH.exe, and any FAH_GPUx.exe processes. DO NOT close the FahCore_xx.exe processes, those will close by themselves about 10 seconds after you kill the clients. I have this happen all the time when I am testing new things with the Tracker and it works 99% of the time without losing work.

Also, I think that freezing bug is fixed in 3.40. I am not 100% sure because I wasn't able to confirm the exact problem, but given that it was introduced in 3.39 I have a good idea of what was causing it.

That seemed to have worked. I rebooted and now back to normal. Thx.

I too have been having a very similar problem to this one, it launches fine, works fine, but when I go to close it, the window is frozen, I can't move it, stop it or close it, I have to Ctrl+Alt+Del, and end the process tree.

It started happening about a 2'ish weeks ago, with version 3.39, and it is still happening in version 3.40 . I have even replaced the files to no avail, it continues.

Seems to have fixed the problem when I upgraded to 3.41. Smile
