Radeon 5870 GPU does not acquire WUs

I have setup FAH GPU Tracker V2 according to the instructions in this thread.

SMP runs fine and uses 8 HT cores at 100%



GPU has been configured, starts but does not acquire any WUs.



I have a Radeon 5870, running Win7 x64 (selected Win7 @ ATI GPU Setup).



Any idea ?

Try without the Force GPU flag. Also, ATI can work with GPU2 or GPU3 client.
In GPU0 folder there is file FAHlog.txt C&P the log in code box here please.

If you're able to get the GPU client running you might want to use a core for it as it need CPU cycles. 7 for SMP should be good.

Unrelated, you should get a passkey so you can get the SMP bonuses

It works now, it just took 1.5 hours to get a WU

Nice tool btw, it saves a lot of configuration time

@B2K24: Thanks for your help anyway. The Force GPU Flag is necessary, it does not start without. And thanks for the passkey hint.

Glad it's working well. Please keep up posted of how things are running.

If your familiar with HFM.net software, you can use it to see how much PPD you will get.
just point it to the clients you run in the tracker folder.

By using HFM you can see if 7 core SMP and 1 free for the GPU nets you better combined PPD than 8 core none free for GPU to use.
Remember it needs to run 3 frames before displays correctly.

I seem to recall, somewhere (where or where was it and my sleep?) that it was strongly suggested to make sure force GPU.

There did seem to be a problem with a couple servers either late Saturday or maybe it was late Sunday where they were down or rejecting sending and receiving WUs.
