New Test machine coming!

Now time to get a laptop running this, or more specifically, an Alienware m11x

Just be sure to get a really good cooling pad as Laptop's are not meant for 100% CPU usage long term by default. The bottom of the laptop will be hot to the touch if hot air is not pushed out properly.

If the heat is bad, i'll just flip the laptop over, remove the cover, and plop my spare 9700 nt onto the heatpipe (have already done with another laptop)

Just ordered the Antec notebook cooler. Hope it does the job.

Hey Ted Im with you I just got a Sony Vaio F series now that Im back from my trip.

Intel Core i7 1.6GHz
Nvidia 330M
6GB DDR3 1333 Ram
lot of other stuff.

This is of course meant for school but I have till the 5th before that starts.

I got the model with the i7 620um, 4 GB of memory, everything else is stock (except for the personalization stuff), and I'm adding my own Seagate Momentus XT 500GB

I have the 720QM and with 48 cuda cores I should be able to do some nice folding on that gpu. The thing is this is a laptop for college and I dont know how often I will be running F@H on it.

Now, the tracker wants to add this "focegpu" flag to the GPU client

I think laptops are useless for folding. I mean everybit counts but I dont think its a great idea.

I have yet to do any folding on my laptop yet. Mainly because Im just to lazy to get it all set up.

the gt335m puts out 2.5k ppd, while the i7 puts out 1.5k ppd.

Im waiting on a new Mobo to be released so that I can do a little playing around with the Lucid Hydra. Ill have to put that purchase on my credit card and just pay it off $50 at a time.
