Adding enteries to Game.txt using the GUI Empty Adding enteries to Game.txt using the GUI

    Post by B2K24 Wed Jun 09, 2010 12:50 pm

I think it would be awesome if possible instead of typing the name of program in Game.txt if programs could be browsed and selected by using a category directly from config option in the GUI.

Perhaps similar to say on windows 7 when allowing a program to bypass the firewall you simply select it then add it.

I run so many emulators and such that's not already added by default in Game.txt I think would be a very nice feature if possible to add it.

    Thank you.

This feature could be very useful, I just need to figure out the best way to implement it.

I second this feature. I would much rather add the exe through the GUI. I wonder, also, can I add other apps that are CPU intensive, if they have an exe? An example is dbPoweramp which uses all 4 cores while ripping, thus causing folding to come to a standstill, indirectly, during the time I am ripping.

Yes, it will work with any .exe you add. It doesn't matter if the program is a game or not.

Actually now that I have had more time to think about this why not just put a pause button on the front on the GUI itself?

Can more options to click be added? or if it must stay at 8 then maybe perhaps the view stats button could be done away with because user can click stats on top that's between setup and client anyway.

It would be nice to have an option to pause either SMP or GPU clients but we already can just stop and start on the GUI currently and maybe that is enough already.

You see before I used this tracker if I closed the SMP I would get this in log

    Code:

So perhaps maybe just a pause button on GUI would be enough instead of having to manually add entries, because obviously, if we game we are gonna be at the PC anyway and can just un pause when finished.

Technically, the "paused" state is the same as stopped for the clients. Paused just means that the clients are not running but will automatically restart if some condition is met. (like a game closing, or some other event)

If you want to do it manually just stop the clients.
